Bukit Hijau & Village Mall

27 December 2007
Thursday
12pm - 12 am

Well, in the picture below, we're at Bukit Hijau.
According to this website, it is "located about 112km south-east of Alor Setar, deep in the forest of Gunung Inas in the Baling district is Peranginan Bukit Hijau, a great retreat for the locals. Also known as Lata Bukit Hijau Recreational Forest, it is famed for its amazing seven-level cascading waterfalls that create seven pools of cool, crystal clear water."

We embarked our journey from Penang, and find our way through. It's not very far from Penang either. First, we cross the Penang bridge, through Seberang Prai, Butterworth, Sg. Dua(not the one in Penang), then turned in to the Bukit Hijau exit.
And we brought little Felix along too! Btw, Me and Rachel are munching on biscuits...Looked weird...

Oh, before I forget, we car pulled Martin (most right) on his Kancil

This is the first waterfall I encountered. It's a beauty, with the sound of water rushing through.
But in order to see this wonderful waterfall (though it's not that tall for this one), we have to climb up a series of stairs.

I did not teach him to put up his hand like that yea! He himself come up with it.
*Sign of L, which I think he meant "Loser!".*

Now this is the second waterfall we encountered. In order to see this, we have to climb higher! But there are steps and there are bridge, so it's not difficult to get here.
Do you see the red brick behind me? The area beyond that brick is a restricted area. According to Martin, that area goes as deep as 30 feet down as the water was falling on that same spot.

Felix was quite positive to the water. He was excited to get wet! But the water was indeed very cold, like iced water from the fridge! Poor Felix was freezing too.

Then we go up higher, and while we were doing so, something captured our attention. Another waterfall that was linked from somewhere higher than where we're standing. This scene is captured while we go up.

Higher we go again, and we found a much greater waterfall. We can even feel the water splash onto our face and our spectacles, plus the direction of the wind was blowing towards us. However, we left my mom and Felix on the second waterfall cuz the steps were quite steep here.

What a relaxing moment...

Rachel the model wannabe.
She was sitting on the black rocks, which has the possibility of having the characteristics of slippery if it's wet, and this applies to the black rocks that are found under the water.

I find this scene very cute. He was using a tissue to wipe off the sand and water from his slippers.

Then, we hopped into the car and head towards Sungai Petani where Ruth work in Starbucks, Village Mall.
In the car...
A pose with some tiny mandarins.

Rachel also wanna pose!

Felix was like tired of us girls posing...hahaha

Cute he is, isn't he?

We reached in the evening, and here we are:
I don't see the point that Ruth, after came back to Penang till 26/12, then on 27/12, she's gonna continue to work in SP until 29/12(sat) as her last day there. Then she will continue to work in e-gate Penang till she find another job. It's like she just work for the last 3 days in SP, and she had to travel all the way from Penang just to complete her work. Aiya...

A little group photo

My mom made Felix to pose with Mr. Santa. Poor boy. Look at his face, I can see that he's not too happy about it..hahaha
Village Mall has some familiar shops, like the picture of Felix with Santa is Living Cabin, and others are Pizza Hut, MyNews.com, Starbucks. Village Mall is smaller than BJ Complex, but since it's new, the floors are shiny and clean. Right opposite Village Mall is Tesco, with just a few steps away. There's an MPH in Tesco, but it's really small.

So, the journey for that day starts at 12 pm, ended at 12am.
