Ah! What a relaxing day today...class cancelled, so I decided to take a day break from going to college. Rachel also took a day break from school since there's nothing much to do in school after her final exam, we went to Bukit Jambul Hill as early as 8 am.
This hill is not as high as Penang Hill, so the trip wouldn't take more than an hour here, and most of the trip are steps and rocks..
It even has rubber tapper tree..I don't remember it exist previuosly..so, it's something new...
However, the rubber tapped were left in a bucket are dried and not collected..I wonder why...
At the midway, we came across a crossroad...The sign board is pointing on the right side stating "Follow this road to top of hill" when it is clearly visible that on the left are steps and on the right are just plain forest..it's contradicting, right?
But I think it's a different route to the top..but most of the time, I use the main route, which is the one with proper steps...
We're like ignoring the signboard and went the other way instead...hahaha...(if it's not funny, then I think I'm lame..wahhaha)
Then, nearing the top:
(nice or not this picture below?? hehe)
"A Light in the Dark"
At the top; such a beautiful sight to be seen. It actually took exactly 20 minutes to reach! In fact, while we were hiking, we stopped quite often, and as for me, I took pictures on the way up, and yet, it just took that amount of time. Fast huh. This hike is not that taxing lah, it's just like climbing up the stairs only.
This is the Penang Bridge view from here...sorry bout the picture, not very nice, moreover, there are too much tree canopy that block the view...aish..what to do, this hill is not very high after all...(cuz b4 this, I climbed the Penang hill twice that took me 3 to 4 hours to reach, so this one is like sap sap water).
Camwhore..."hey, I didn't bully her kay!"
At the top, they have gym equipment, but it's very old..
They also had exercise equipment, just like the ones in Youth Park...
Thirsty?
These water gallons were brought up by the the regular hikers who hike up this hill a few times a day everyday!
And as a result, other people who hiked up the hill get free drink..so if you wanna hike up this hill, you don't have to worry about drinking water..in fact, you don't really need water cuz hiking this hill is not very taxing...
So, here are the cups:
This hot water(below) is meant for rinsing the cups, so just grab a cup and dunk it in before and after you use the cup.
They have plain water, Longan, and ginger drink:
Firewoods:
After appreciating the beauty at the top of the hill, we make ourselves down the hill, but before that, some photo session!
Rachel posing by a tree:
Next to where Rachel post, we spot something...a troop of unending line of ants!
(click on picture to see it better!)
Here's a video of the life of the ants:
Steps down:
Click play and enjoy the sound of nature =) :
This is one of the regular hikers who brings up the water daily!
What a beautiful flower...
The BJ Hill had changed a lot. I haven't been coming here for quite some time. Since young (like around 6 years old) I had climbed the hill. Another occasion is when I'm in form 2 where it's a school activity. The students actually walked from the school to this hill to climb to the top...it was fun...
Today, there's a new construction area going on, a new banner(on the first pic), new toilet, new exercise equipment, etc. Those who are interested to come up this hill with me, by all means let me know! If not, I might just go up alone.
I'm looking forward to try all the routes that leads to the top of BJ Hill. Am also looking to hike at Kerachut and Youth Park (both never tried before), and also hike up to Penang Hill through Moon Gate and other routes.
